GENERAL JOB
Technical Writer-Editor (TW) is responsible for serving as a control point for acquisition and management, writing, and editorial control of technical orders.
Essential Primary Job Functions

Write original technical manuals, revisions, changes, and supplements from source data provided by various sources.

Provide documentation in accordance with applicable, governing Air Force specifications.

Provide final documents that are grammatically correct, clear, and concise, and complete technical documentation.
Secondary Primary Job Functions
-
May be required to train other Technical Writer-Editor (TW) and government personnel in the proper use, safe design, and improvements required for sustaining the support of Technical Writer-Editor Services.

Maintain safe and clean working environment and comply with all applicable security and safety regulations and OSHA standards.

Education and Experience for Technical Writer (TW)

Must possess a valid Secret Security Clearance adjudicated in the last five (5) years.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years of work experience as an avionics technician, maintenance technician, or technical writer.

Must have experience in Adobe, Frame Maker, Arbor Text, Adobe Photoshop, and ABBY FineReader preferred.

Preferred experience in writing original Technical Manuals, revisions, changes, supplements, and checklists from source data provided.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are representative of those performing essential functions of the job in an industrial production and repair environment and general office setting. Must be able to work sitting or standing. · May be required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted. Minor cuts and scrapes are to be expected. Possible minor burns or shock from operating electrical equipment and or soldering equipment may be present. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be expected to be worn and used when required. Standard work week generally applies; however, candidate will be expected to work as the requirement dictates.
